Gilles Florent is a Belgian-born stained glass artist. At age 22 he started his apprenticeship as a craftsman, practicing the traditional techniques of stained glass restoration and creation . He subsequently opened his own studio in Belgium and became a specialist in the restoration of public buildings and church windows.

Gilles has worked in more than 50 sites, and has participated in various workshop and seminars in London, Paris, Philadelphia, Romont (Switzerland) and Chicago. In 1995, he earned first price in the King Baudouin Foundation’s competition for the restoration of historical architecture.

In 2003, Gilles moved to Israel and orientated his work towards creative stained glass designs (contemporary and traditional both). His current projects include designing stained glass for private houses as well as for public places such as pubs, restaurants, and synagogues.
